WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT WHEN YOU VISIT US??
Attending a new church for the first time can be rather intimidating. Please relax. It'll be OK.
1. When you drive onto our parking lot you will find some older buildings that just might need a little repair. (We're working on that!!) Our church was built in 1948--so it isn't the most up-to-date building in Nampa. But hey! the Church is people--not buildings.
2. When you enter our doors you will find people of all ages--people visiting with each other, drinking coffee, eating donuts. They might even be clogging our entry way. Don't worry they will get out of the way! Someone will greet you and help you find where you would like to go (like the Nursery if you have an infant, or the restroom, or the sanctuary).
3. Someone will probably hand you a "bulletin" or "worship folder." This is an announcement sheet telling you what's happening that day (and the next few weeks in the life of our church.) They might also ask you to let us know who you are by signing our "guest book" or a "visitor card". Don't worry about that either--we won't bug you. We just want to send you an email or a letter thanking you for visiting us. If you don't want us to have your address just say "no thanks".
4. Sooner or later you will meet our Pastor. Pastor Mark will be driving around on his mobility chair. He has MS and that's the way he gets around. He may have a child on his lap--kids in the church love to go for rides on his chair (and so does his granddaughter).
5. You might be invited into our Fellowship Room for a cup of coffee or tea and a light snack (if our teens haven't eaten them all). That's just our way of enjoying one another's company.
6. When our church starts at 10:50 am everyone finds a place to sit in the sanctuary. Please sit wherever you are comfortable. You are our honored guests!
7. You will find that the church service is simple: lots of music and Bible reading (both important to us). We sing contemporary and traditional music and you will see and hear pianos, drums, and guitars. We greet each other, pray, we receive an offering and Pastor Mark preaches a message that hopefully connects the Bible with where we live. (Oh--yeah--please do not feel obligated to give when the plates are passed. The offering time is our church family's opportunity to give to the Lord and support the church).
8. After the service is over (right about Noon) we hope you will come up front and introduce yourself to Pastor Mark. He would love to meet you if he hasn't already.
That's it! Not too frightening! No dress code (dress like you would any normal day. Pastor Mark wears a tie but he's kinda a dweeb.) No expectations. We just want to provide you with a place to connect with a loving God and a good people. We want our church to be a place where no one feels alone.
