Here is a list of our capabilities and requirements:
Our Sound System has a CD and DVD player, 1/4" TRS, and XLR inputs. We typically run 5 wired microphones, but can handle up to 8. We have 2 wireless lavalier mics and 1 wireless headset mic. We have an electronic keyboard (weighted, 88 key), and an electronic drumset. The church does not have any direct-boxes, so if you need one you must bring your own (although we have some experience at direct 1/4" connection.).
Our Computer System has Windows XP and the latest versions of both Microsoft Office and OpenOffice.org. It is also equipped with separate CD and DVD players capable of putting out both video to our projector and sound to our main speaker system. We usually record the sermons digitally using a program called Audacity. Files can be emailed to our computer at Soundbooth@lvnazarene.org or they can be brought via USB removable storage (thumbdrive, flashdrive, etc.) or on CD or DVD. Our Projector is connected to our main computer system and can only be controlled from the rear of the sanctuary. We are in the process of designing a system that can be controlled from the pulpit (or front of the sanctuary), but we are not there yet. We recommend very simplistic, self-explanatory slides - easily operated by someone else. And we recommend thorough notes for the presenter so that you do not have to depend on looking at the screen for your next word.
Our Team consists of motivated, committed individuals. We have worked together and built this system from scratch over the last couple of years. Others have assisted us on the way and we are always looking for committed individuals to help in creating a system to assist presenters in sharing their message with all who enter our doors.
